In the IT Industry (like TCS, Wipro, Infosys) resignation process is the process by which the employee submits a formal notice to the company that he/she is leaving the company. This is a lengthy process, so I am writing this blog with all the details, the procedure, the timeline and other things.
First of all, Stay Calm and be clear about your decision. Discuss your resignation plan with your Team lead, Manager and HR respectively in the same order. Try to follow this order.
After your Team lead and Manager acknowledges, send an official email to your HR stating to accept the email as formal notification of your resignation from effective mm/dd/yy. Mention the reason for resignation and give your personal email ID. The effective date you give in this email is important as notice period (90-day calendar days from effective date) will be calculated from this date. CC your manager and supervisor/Team leader.
Resignation Acknowledgement mail
In the next 4–7 days, you will get mail from the Separation Team with your resignation Acknowledgement mail.
Supervisor will initiate the resignation process in Dashboard like ‘Ultimatix’. You can also track this workflow. First level approval from supervisor and second level approvals manager. With these two approvals your resignation process has been accepted at Project level and you will receive ‘Resignation Acknowledgement’ mail from Separation support team.
Notice Period Time Start
Then, your notice period (90 days or 60 days) started. your routine work continued for the next 2 months.
Once you start your last month, again you will get a mail from the separation team asking you to clear all library No Dues mail.
No Dues Clearance’ at IRC and IDM will be done automatically. You will be notified if you have any outstanding dues. You get in touch with your HR and Separation team to revoke the resignation. You have the right to revoke your resignation till two-three days before the notice period end date.
and most important thing is the notice period you will not be allowed to take leaves unless you are sick. Suppose you will take any sick leave that reflects Your notice period, and it will get extended. Complete all the processes You will lose access to your Company email and access on your last working day.
and at the end of the day, you will Hand over the ID card to the separation team. You will receive an IR Letter ‘Initial Release letter’ to your personal email ID with all clearance details.
